Maternity Family Pictures

Maternity sessions are such a wonderful way to document a time of life parents will barely remember! What was it like being a family of two? As a mom of two darling kiddos, let me tell you... its so easy to forget life as just a couple! With all of the craziness and wonderful moments a baby brings, sometimes we forget what our family looked like before, just hubby and me.

When I look back at my own family pictures, it is so nice to be reminded of all the different stages of family. Whether its just some family pictures on my cell phone, or portrait photography with my big ol' amazing camera (which are obviously wayyyy better!), I'm just glad I have them to cherish forever.

This darling couple wanted family pictures as their little family of two became three. We scheduled the maternity session as well as a newborn session for when baby arrived. We talked about outfits for the session.... because I love talking about buying new dresses! Mama to be picked out a cute floor length dress where we could drape out the flowy bottom for some of the images I was envisioning. Our session took place on a beautiful afternoon a number of weeks before baby arrived in a pretty park near downtown Dallas. As the sun set, I was able to capture some of the couple's favorite poses with a golden hue in the backdrop. They chose a heirloom museum quality framed piece of artwork as their keepsake from this time in their lives. White with a white linen matting to match the light decor in their beautifully decorated home. Here are a few of my favorites from our session.

This mama to be was the best model! Walking over all sorts of grass and rocks to get the perfect images! Stay tuned for the newborn session we did a few weeks later... family pictures where two becomes three! Can't wait to share.
